Time to get the party started in this forum!
My favorite book, believe it or not, is not a Superman title. That's number 2. The book that has reserved the number one spot is by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. It's called....
Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch
It's filled with humor and is about the end of times with the anti-christ and what have you. This book is in it's tenth printing but I'm fortunate enough to own a first edition. I originally had a first edition of it, but it was lost due to moving so much. I found a first edition on eBay and I got my favorite book back!
So, what's your favorite literary work of art?

I don't understand that book. I guess it's because I haven't read the bible. It goes way over my head.
My favorite book right now is, "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. Also pretty much anything by him, but that one is my favorite so far.

Well i don't have a fancy smancy book like both of you but seeing as I'm into war hammer 40000 i have a book that is good its called "Traitor General" and it's by Dan Abnett. Its a good book if you like a lot of action and war scenarios.

Actually I read Good Omens...just finished it in fact. Laughed my lil' butt off.
But my personal favorite book...well I really can't pick just one, so I'll go with the series: Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony. For those who haven't read it, it's just a 7 book series about the different incarnations (time, war, death, etc.) that leads up to the replacement of God. I cried at the end because I didn't want it to end.

Since you started me on Odd Thomas i have fallen Madely in love with Dean Koontz. I love his work and I want every book he has ever written. Still out of the ones I have read Odd's series wins with a landslide. Andrea

I haven't seen the other Odd's except the second one and I didn't get a chance to read it.
Hey cottam, my mom loved those Wheel of Time books since we lived back in PA. I, on the other hand, never could get into them. My mom would be wildchild on here. It'll probably top her list when she posts. Turns out, a lot of people love those books.

But i didnt expect anything less from Dean Koontz. As for these authors, they are all wonderful. However, I have not read anything by Lois L'amor i dont think. Anne Rice tells great vampire stories. The Stand has been a great book so far however i havent finished it yet because Stephen King made it so long. Lol. and I tried to read all of V.C. Andrews series when I was little and i made it half way through. The movie based off of her book Flowers in the Atic is really good but it doesnt do the book justice.

Never heard of Brother Odd, but I did see Forever Odd in Wal-Mart. I glanced through it and then put it back because at the time, I didn't have the money. Now I can't find it there. Barnes and Nobles may have to save me.

Well I guess if i had a writter that would inspire me to write would be Stephen King because most of his books are not what you would think they are along with many twists. But as for all the others everyones posted i haven't read them, though they probably are good books and the authors are good as well.
Oh and i just got a new favorite book i suggest everyone buy it and read it its called "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins its basically him telling how the "supernatural" gods aren't real i haven't finished it yet but when i'm done if your not going to read it but want to know what its about i'll make a new topic

Pretty much anything by Michael Crichton qualifies as my favorite. I've never read anything he wrote that i didn't absolutely love.
