Well, due to the accident that I had in November at work, I've had to quit working at Cabela's. So yesterday, I spent the day researching jobs on the Nebraska Joblink site. It's full of great ideas, but one really stood out. A local paper, in Sidney, has had an opening for a Reporter. Now, it's always been a dream of mine to try that job. Why? Probably because Superman is a reporter, but I loved doing it when I was in high school for the high school paper. I just love to write. So I took in my resume and Don, the editor, seemed happy to have someone applying. So, I think it went well and I'm looking forward to him calling me back. I'll keep ya'll posted on how it goes and what job I get.

That's going to be so great! I really hope you get the job!!!! That means that finally things are going to move forward. I feel like we've been stuck in a rut living in this crappy town. I know that there's a reason for us being here though because i firmly believe in fate and that everything happens for a reason. I'll be really happy for you and happy for us when you get that job!!! It's so exciting! There's just not much to be offered here!!!

;DCongradulations Klark!
This could be a great thing...I hope that the interview goes well for you and that you get the spot. It's really hard to have an opportunity like that come along. Don't be nervous though...your gonna do great!
I was an editor and ran a publishing office in New York for about 6 years and loved every minute of it. It was my dream job and I got lucky to step into the opportunity and milked it for all it was worth.
Keep us all posted!

The interview went swimmingly! I had written a press release for my poetry book that I had got published and I included that in my resume as an example. He was totally impressed with it! When I told him I had never published the press release, he snuck his hand over and took the press release back! I think he might publish it. He wants me to do a faux story, I guess to see where my skills are. So, I've already got an idea and I'm gonna talk to my old boss at Pizza Hut and do a story on it. Then email it to him and he'll call me back again. I got the tour of the paper offices and the printing presses! I have never seen printing press's, but it was awesome! So, I'm gonna do the story tomorrow and email it in. Then he'll call, but I can pretty much say that I've got the job! I have to move to Sidney, he's understanding that I'll be starting from Kimball until I get enough money to move and find a place, but he said he's willing to work with that. I mean, I got the tour! That's like a good sign I'm in. He's also excited because of my knowledge of computer hardware and software, plus, the paper wants to try to hit my demographic so he's even excited about my age!!!! Holy crap! I'm a reporter!

It happened! Last night at 6:45 p.m. I got a call from the editor of the Sidney Sun Telegraph! He said "Your writing technique wouldn't need a lot of editing. Well, to be honest with you, Klark, I would just love to have you come work for me." I said "I would love to come work for you!"
That's right! I'm officially the newest reporter at the Sidney Sun Telegraph in Sidney, NE. When I applied, I included the Press Release that I never had published for my published Poetry Book! After getting the tour, I had to write up a newspaper style story.
I was gonna include links, but you have to have a gmail account to view them. That sucks. Anyway, my salary is to be in the $20,000 a year range. That's range. I don't know for sure how much and I'll start on Monday, so perhaps I'll find out then.
Thanks for all your support!!!
