I went to the Twins home opener last night. Heres some pictures/video I took. First, I said goodbye to Ludwig. Ahh the Metrodome. I got there an hour early. The stands were still filling up. Ok, so I didn't have great seats. I was closer than my camera wants to admit though. This is Johan Santana at the mound. AKA The Cy Young Award Winner. This crowd was intense. Nearly 50,000 people. It's not suprising though, this was the home opener. Not to mention we have the batting champ, the MVP and the Cy Young winner. For those of you who don't know much about baseball, this is how it goes. The Cy Young award goes to the #1 pitcher in baseball that year (Santana). The batting award goes to the player with the best batting average (most hits that season, Joe Mauer) and the MVP goes to the #1 player in that conference (Justin Morneau). So basically the Twins have the three top players in the categories of pitching, batting and overall ability. Joe Nathan at the mound to finish up the Orioles. Okay, now for some videos. Player/Coaches introductions. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouj9tOLEgoYGuy runs out onto the field. www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0x8YuDNmc0The last out at the game. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAFlg9ktB9g
